Nanyang Polytechnic

From Student Roots to Sustainability Collaboration
As the alma mater of our co-founder Jason, Nanyang Polytechnic holds a special place in our story. What began as a student initiative has since blossomed into a meaningful partnership — one rooted in innovation, sustainability, and a shared belief in nurturing change-makers from the ground up.
We’re deeply grateful to NYP for being one of the first to believe in our mission, and for walking alongside us as we turned ideas into impact.
Where It All Started
Our journey with NYP began not just in the classroom - but in the soil.
Thanks to the support of the Sustainability Experience Centre, we had the opportunity to set up our very first microgreens system right on campus. That humble setup marked our first steps into urban farming and was even featured in Lianhe Zaobao, where Jason shared how NYP’s ecosystem had supported his entrepreneurial growth.
Jason also participated in NYP’s JumpStart Programme and represented the school in the POL-ITE Entrepreneur Competition, where he refined his pitch, validated his business model, and gained valuable mentorship that still shapes our approach today.

What We’ve Built Together
Hydroponics Showcase at MakersNode
We independently designed and built a hydroponics system within NYP’s MakersNode innovation space. The system serves as both an educational showcase and a source of fresh greens shared with students and staff - a living example of growing more with less, even indoors.

What We’ve Built Together
Business School Collaborations
Final-year Business students from NYP have partnered with us on capstone projects, helping us explore new go-to-market strategies, refine our communications, and align our growth with real-world data.

What We’ve Built Together
A Circular Sustainability Model
Together with NYP’s Student Development team, we’ve closed the loop on organic waste through two composting pathways:
- SPROUT Garden Vermicomposting - Waste from our microgreens is transformed by earthworms into nutrient-rich castings that help the garden thrive.
- Industrial Food Digestor - Waste from our leafy greens enters NYP’s industrial digester, producing compost that’s shared with surrounding communities, extending the impact beyond campus.

What We’ve Built Together
Eco-Fest & Adopt-A-Block
We’ve been proud participants in NYP’s sustainability events such as Eco-Fest and Adopt-A-Block, where we share our love for growing food in small urban spaces. These moments allow us to reconnect people - students, staff, and the wider community - with the roots of their food.
Outcomes We’re Proud Of
Sustainability in Action
Helped embed sustainability into the everyday student experience through real-world projects.
A Living Lab for Innovation
Supported NYP’s vision of becoming a living lab for green innovation.
Zero-Waste Systems in Practice
Co-created systems that exemplify Singapore’s zero-waste ambitions - from seed to system to soil.
Bring Learning to Life
If you're an educator or institution looking to bring sustainability to life on your campus, we’d love to explore how we can co-create something together — just like we did with Nanyang Polytechnic.
Let’s grow something together.
