About GreenLoopFarms
From a Humble Rack to a Greener Future
It all started with a single rack of microgreens at home, grown out of the love for fresh and delicious food.
We started by sharing what we grew with friends and family — and the joy it brought sparked something bigger.
Today, that small passion project has grown into a full-scale indoor farm, where we grow a variety of microgreens, herbs, leafy greens, and edible flowers all year round.
For us, it’s not just about fresh and nutritious produce — it’s about making it accessible and helping people reconnect with the roots of their food.
To cultivate a thriving, sustainable future by inspiring communities to reconnect with the essence of locally grown, nutrient-rich food, fostering a world where people and the planet flourish in harmony

The 'Loop' in GreenLoopFarms
A closed-loop system where farm waste is sent to our partners and fed to worms which enrich the garden naturally.
Cocopeat
We begin with cocopeat — a sustainable, moisture-retaining medium made from coconut husks. It’s our eco-friendly foundation for growing microgreens.
Seeding
We sow selected seeds onto the cocopeat beds. With the right moisture and light, the seeds begin their journey into vibrant, nutrient-rich microgreens within just days.
Harvest
Once matured, the microgreens are carefully harvested at peak freshness. At this stage, they offer maximum flavour, texture, and nutritional value—ready to enhance any dish.
Worm composting
We transport the used cocopeat and organic waste to SPROUT (Sustainability Program Reaching OUT) garden, a sustainability garden at our partner Nanyang Polytechnic. There, earthworms break it all down into nutrient-rich vermicast—a natural fertiliser.
Grows community
The nutrient-rich vermicast from our wormbins is mixed with leftover cocopeat to enrich garden soil—completing the loop and supporting healthy soil-based growing.
Better Together: The GreenLoopFarms Collective
We partner with Golden Cap (Mushrooms) and Bountiful (Vegetables) so you can get a complete grocery box in one delivery. Supporting an ecosystem of Singaporean urban farmers, not just one.
What we grow
-
Microgreens
Microgreens are nutrient-dense seedlings harvested just 7–21 days after seeding. Despite their small size, they offer a vibrant range of colours, textures, and flavours.
We utilise vertical farming methods and modular systems to maximise space, as well as use cocopeat for sustainable farming.
-
Leafy Greens
For our mature greens like kale and asian greens, we adopt a larger hydroponic system. While hydroponics depends greatly on water, they also use almost 90% less water compared to traditional farming as water in hydroponic systems is recaptured and reused.
-
Herbs
We grow a variety of herbs like basil, rosemary and thyme. Using similar sustainable farming methods, our herbs are aromatic and packed with flavour.
-
Edible Flowers
Edible flowers are increasingly popular as garnishes and infused in teas. Popular varieties that we grow include nasturtiums, marigold, and cornflower.
Reconnecting People to the Roots of Their Food
In a city that imports more than 90% of its food, our relationship with food has grown increasingly distant. That’s why we open our doors to the public for hands-on farm experiences, where you can see, touch, and taste produce at peak freshness—reconnecting with how food is grown and why it matters.
